Questions about QRS, the Morse code trainer.

Why do the letters play so fast? That’s the Koch method, and it’s on purpose: you learn each character by its sound at real speed from day one. The gaps between characters stretch while you’re learning (Farnsworth spacing) and shrink as you improve. Slow characters teach a counting habit you’d only have to unlearn.
How do I unlock more letters? Answer the current set correctly. When your recent accuracy holds at 90 percent, the next character in the Koch sequence joins the rotation.
The straight key doesn’t read my sending. The key decodes against the speed set in the app: at 20 WPM a dit is under 120 ms. Try slowing the character speed down, and pause clearly between letters. Squeeze for a dit, lean for a dah.
Does QRS transmit anything? No. QRS is practice only: it makes tones and reads screen taps. No radio, no license needed, nothing leaves the device.
