Why does it want my location? Only to compute your Maidenhead grid square, once, when you ask. The coordinate never leaves your device — only the grid string is shown.
The distance/bearing looks approximate. Grid squares are areas, not points; QTH computes from cell centers, which is the convention hams use. It’s great for antenna aiming, not survey work.
